A Deal with a Debutante is my first Chelsea Bobulski book and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to release.
Oh my stars I loved this book.
Picture if you will, an independently wealthy daughter of a US businessman whose mother is keen to see her daughter make a socially advantageous marriage so her elevated rank silences those who still snub the new money families.
Add a dashing Earl who is desperate to save his family’s crumbling estate but doesn’t have the funds to do so without marrying someone wealthy. On their first meeting, Edward is honest about who he’s looking to wed. In return, Calliope tells Edward in no uncertain terms she will never marry him. And we’re off. Edward’s kindness becomes a perfect match for Calliope’s slightly guarded edges.
Both sides start to develop feelings but daren’t confess. Then a surprise visitor shakes everything up.
Where to start with the praise? The plot was clever and tightly written. The tension, and the reasons the pair were not together were believable. The smaller characters were well drawn and added to the story realistically. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I received a copy of A Deal with a Debutante from the publisher via NetGalley. The views are all my own (highly recommended).
