Stay with Me will do just that, after Sam and Genevieve firmly made their way into my heart. I’m a sucker for a cracking first line and this one had me gripped. No spoilers though – there’s a link at the bottom to grab a sneaky peak.

The first in the Misty River series is a page turner for sure. Binge reading occured, following which, I was compelled to find out what the threatening notes were all about. I wanted to know if Genevieve would finally find the strength to break free of some chains, and if Sam could possibly become more awesome. He really couldn’t.

One of Wade’s many strengths as an author is world building. I loved visiting Sam’s Farm and following a trip to his diner, may have to try paleo baking. The intriguing addition of the backstory of the Miracle Five only built the anticipation as I read toward the end.

Sam and Genevieve’s story is a sweet one. Both bring different types of baggage, yet are interconnected. He’s a prickly loner while she’s an evangelical extrovert. Readers can expect some sparks to fly. As ever, Becky Wade has found several compelling sub-plots to wrap a beautiful, redemptive, love story around and I didn’t blink before giving this five stars.

Once you’ve read and loved this first full trip to Misty River, get excited for Sebastian’s story and then Luke’s. Based on reading this first book, both two and three should be amazing.
