Taming Lady Temperance

Taming Lady Temperance, by Karen Witemeyer

Taming Lady Temperance is a delightful story, and the perfect mix of light and substance.

The story features Noreen O’Sullivan. A rough childhood with her drunken and abusive father, has made her want to turn her hometown dry. She’s not concerned who she annoys in the process. Deputy James Paxton has ambitions to run for sherriff and knows a friendship or more with Noreen could harm his political chances, but he can’t help falling for her courage, determination, or her cooking.

When James helps Noreen plan a temperance march, things get out of hand and Noreen must defend herself agains serious accusations of arson. The two of them work together to clear her name or all hopes of any future together will be lost.

This is a clever story. Lots of feels. A few chuckles and a hard look at the price of alcohol abuse. Plus a very sweet romance. If you enjoy western romance, especially of the historical variety, then anything by Karen Witemeyer should be an auto-buy. This is no different.
