Wes and Addie Had Their Chance is the latest in a delightful series of standalone stories set in Adelaide Springs, CO. This friend group is a gift that keeps on giving.
After Addie’s professional and personal life implode in a redacted mess she can never tell her friends about, she returns to live with her dad and recuperate. The very last person she wanted to see was her former fiancee who left her at the altar. But given he’s running for president, she sees him on every media outlet anyway.
What Addie doesn’t know is that when Wes returns to Adelaide Springs, instead of remaining on the campaign trail, it’s in preparation for a scandal to break that could derail his run. Despite giving him the cold shoulder and doing her best to avoid him, Addie slowly allows her old feelings to resurface. Meanwhile Wes must wrestle with a life in high office or the chance at a future with Addie.
With several great twists and a huge amount of character development, this is a highly engaging page turner. If you enjoy clever and with depth, but lightly written contemporary romances, this is definitely recommended.
