Fireproof

Fireproof, by Susan May Warren

After such a great series, a lot was resting on the shoulders of Fireproof, and it didn’t disappoint. When you mix an undercover operative an ambitious smokejumper, a wildfire and (because this is Susan May Warren) a missing nuclear warhead, things are going to kickoff.

In this sixth book in a great series, we get the story of Jade Ransom, a seasoned smokejumper and Crispin Lamb. He’s switched identities to hunt a secret organization called The Brotherhood for several years. On her first day battling the raging wildfire, Jade rescues Crispin as he tries desperately to find the missing nuke via an old contact named Henry.

So, fairly high stakes. Injuries galore and so many plot twists I got little dizzy. But wow. This was an explosive conclusion that kept meep reading late into the night. There were so many reasons for Crispin and Jade to stay apart. But yet they couldn’t. The descriptions, the chemistry, the cleverness all made this fairly unforgettable.

I received a copy of Fireproof from the publisher – the gushing is all my own.
