Under the Texas Mistletoe has set me right up for Christmas. The three stories from one of my favorite authors delivers all the holiday joy.
The first novella has a young woman with a generous heart. She politely involved the local grinch in her festive giving, then slowly wore his resolve away while doing so. I was gripped. Story two features the wonderful Archer family in a tale that made me cry with its beautiful message. I have plans to reread the Archer stories early in 2022. Then finally, comes a story first featured in the excellent Christmas Heirloom collection several years ago, and I was happy to reread it.
The thing I liked best about Under the Texas Mistletoe is the weaving of a touching romance, a story of faith and the Christmas message. The past couple of years have had challenges none of us expected, and while the world seems a little darker, Karen Witemeyer is bringing some light.
This book is HIGHLY recommended, especially if you enjoy Christmas stories. Because it’s a novella collection, this is a quick read and worth every minute.
I really enjoyed this novella collection. Her retelling of a Christmas Carol was excellent and one of the best story retellings I’ve read. And the Archer brothers Christmas story just made me want to re-read the entire Archer brother series again!
