Under Fire is (in my opinion) a must read for fans of romantic suspense. It’s the third in a series and I highly recommend books one and two, but this story also stands alone.

Before we go any further, I read this book way early, and have since read it again, because it is honestly, just that good. Zane and Tessa have been background characters in the preceding two novels. Their relationship has already been tested but no romance has developed. Come on!

Now, Zane returns with his new team to protect the President and Tessa appointed the liaison between her office and his. The love between the best friends is evident, as is their reluctance to risk anything deeper, but the heart wants what the heart wants, even when there are lives on the line.

This book has some of the greatest one liners and interactions I have ever read. Blackburn is a master of her craft. She is a singular talent with a massive propensity to build an ensemble cast that will delight readers. If you love romantic suspense, this whole series is a complete win.
