Two Seconds Too Late

Two Seconds Too Late, by Dani Pettrey

Two Seconds Too Late is the second in the Jeopardy Falls series but would also work as a standalone. that said, I think it’s always more fun to know some backstory, but it’s by no means essential. Skip tracer Riley has been secretly in love with private investigator Greyson Chadwick for quite some time, but never shown that interest. Grey feels the same but his damage past means he doesn’t want to risk losing someone so prefers to stay not involved. Until a case forces them to go undercover as a couple and make it convincing.

Anyone who reads my reviews knows Dani Pettrey is an auto buy author. Yes I often receive ebooks from the author or her publisher, but I also buy my own physical copy. That should speak volumes. This book is no exception. I liked the extremely clever plot. I liked that the case forced Riley to face the one place on earth she despises, and Grey to face the thing that scares him most. Their characters are appealing and I pulled hard for them both. Two quite late nights were involved in finishing this book quickly. And there were a couple of big plot twists that will impact the entire series too. I cannot wait for book three.

I received a copy of Two Seconds Too Late from the author via NetGalley. The views are all my own.
