I am so excited to tell you about The Christmas Ring. Karen Kingsbury inspired me to be a writer and I have loved her books for twenty years. And it’s going to be a movie too-how cool is that?

The story centers around Vanessa Mayfield, a military widow who loses an heirloom family ring. As she hunts for the missing piece of jewelry, Vanessa meets antique dealer Ben Miller and a friendship quickly grows. As Vanessa closes in on the possibility of a miracle rediscovery of her ring, the friendship turns to more but Vanessa’s daughter isn’t keen.

As ever with a Karen Kingsbury novel, there’s lots of emotion and sentiment, but they’re deftly handled. The complex family dynamics for both Vanessa with her daughter, and Ben with his business partner-father. And of course, a strong faith element weaves everything together. Even though you know everything will work out, I was still frantically turning pages to get to the part where it all came together. This is the hallmark of a good book.
