As a career radio journalist, I was excited to pick up Point of Danger by Irene Hannon. A longtime fan of her work, I was confident I’d enjoy the book vey much, and I wasn’t wrong.
Not many novels feature radio stations and I can say Hannon’s depiction of the coffee is spot on. More to the point, the plot kept me guessing until quite near the end, and as an inhaler of romantic suspense, that’s pretty hard to do. I especially liked the character development. Brent Lange is a detective determined to never again worry the woman he loves into desperation. His solution is to remain single. Then in walks controversial talk show host, Eve Reilly.
You see Eve isn’t one to wilt at the first sign of trouble. Even after a series of threats, including to her sisters, she’s still fighting. Can she show Brent she can handle the danger in his career by the way she handles the problems in her own? Will Brent catch the bad guy(s) before Eve is silenced?
With a fast paced and unpredictable plot, plus great secondary characters and thread, this is another excellent read from Irene Hannon.
