Over the Edge is book two in the Undaunted Courage series. The book also works well as a standalone novel. This story is so clever. After serving a major trauma, personal chef Lindsey Barnes moved away to start fresh, until she unwittingly stumbled on a murder.
Detective Jack Tucker isn’t at all convinced by Lindsey’s story, but something isn’t adding up. The two must put a tricky past behind them and work together to stop a ruthless and manipulative killer. The plot of this story shows Irene Hannon remains one of Christian fiction’s most versatile writers.
As ever with Hannon, you can’t take anything for granted as the plot twists keep coming. I liked Jack’s steadiness, how he never got panicked but calmly handled everything that came his way. I found Lindsey a little highly strung but there was such goodness in her, and as characters go, she was very resilient. It took me until seventy five percent of the way through to figure out who the bad person was, and as someone who reads a lot of romantic suspense, that was real treat.
I received a copy of Over the Edge from the publisher via NetGalley. The enjoyment is all my own.
