Karen Witemeyer has long been right in a medal position of “my favorite historical romance authors.” Her books are that perfect blend of faith, love, struggles and humor. Her latest offering, More Than Words Words Can Say doesn’t disappoint.
This is a continuation of the Patchwork Family series that began with More Than Meets the Eye. In this second outing, we see the eldest sibling Zach settled in a new town, helping run a sawmill and dodging the ladies. Until Abigail propositions him.
Right there’s a happy point – the girl propositions the guy. And she’s pretty upfront about it, determined to solve her problem (I’m not giving more details there – read the book). So yes, it’s a marriage of convenience story, but with several twists that make it unpredictable.
The fun really starts after the marriage but before the couple starts to truly appreciate each other. Readers get front row seats to see two separate souls become one, with a lot of fun and games along the way.
As ever, Witemeyer blends humor and warmth in with the harder elements of the story, and while the faith content is done with a light but earnest touch.
