Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish by Bethany Turner

I thoroughly enjoyed Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish. I’m a long time admirer of Turner’s creativity, and have been excited to read this latest offering since I first saw the cover. Thankfully, my appetite for a great read was sated (see what I did there)?

Hadley Beckett is instantly likable, and that’s unusual for me. I’m not typically a big fan of heroines, but Hadley’s southern charm won me over right away. Max is definitely a cad to begin with. However, as he worked to change, I found myself firmly in his corner too.

Their interactions switch from funny to tender to painful and back all through the book. I really enjoyed the great kitchen scenes, raw heart to hearts and many laughs. Meemaw and Leo made great secondary characters and I found myself reluctant to put this book down.

As I began reading, I could see several different, somewhat predictable storylines coming at me and I am delighted to report Bethany Turner chose none of those routes, but instead, cut a different, far more enjoyable path for her characters. I hope you get a chance to read this book and enjoy your time at home with Hadley as much as I did.
