Firestorm is a clever book with a plot that ups the stakes and the tension with every passing chapter. This is the fourth installment in an excellent series and will stand alone but is so much richer read as part of the series.
Wow. There’s a LOT going on in this book. Jayne Price decided not to tell her teenage sweetheart that he’d left her with more than a broken heart. Instead, she stayed at the fire camp where they met and raised the son he doesn’t know exists.
Charlie Benning never forgot his first Loveland is shocked to run into Jayne, the manager of the fire camp where his estranged daughter Alexis is training. When a fire threatens the area, Charlie works with colleague Orion Price to keep the camp safe and uncovers a shocking truth.
What I really loved about this story is that the shocks keep coming. A brand new family dynamic allows readers to see many different facets of each main character’s personality, but with the backdrop of a dangerous wildfire and a killer on the loose. The description made me sweat at times and the action doesn’t quit.
No problem recommending this fourth installment of a great series.
