After liking Turner’s debut series so much, I was excited to read Fatal Forensic Investigation. Happily, I wasn’t disappointed. Fans of a fast-paced, high octane thrillers will thoroughly enjoy this book.
This time, a forensic sketch artist Scarlet Wells is on the hunt for a serial killer stalking victims in a small town on Vancouver Island. Unfortunately, she’s forced to team up with Jace Allen a man she spent her college years sparring with. Then events kick in and amnesia wipes Scarlet’s memories and she gets to see Jace with fresh eyes.
But her memory also holds the only image of the killer who is growing bolder every day while trying to accomplish his goal. And as the body count grows, time is running out for Scarlet to remember.
As ever with a Darlene L. Turner book, Fatal Forensic Investigation starts with a jolt and the action keeps coming as the team races to catch the killer before he takes more lives. All the while, Scarlet sees Jace in a new light as she’s forced to move into his beach house when the killer targets her personally.
The pages flew by. Highly recommended for fans of high octane thrillers.
