Faithful of Heart

Faithful of Heart, by Tracie Peterson

Faithful of Heart is the first book in a new series by Tracie Peterson, one of the finest writers in her genre.

The premise of the story is that dedicated chairty leader Judith is settled in her widowed life in Pennsylvania, living from a trust fund left by her late father, immersed in good works.

She receives a shocking invitation to visit her grandfather in Minnesota, which she declines. Her grandfather disowned the family when his son married a woman he felt beneath him. Judith wants nothing to do with him. When her grandather offers a huge donation to one of Judith’s charities, she agrees to visit. But during the trip, learns the older man is dying of a heart condition.

While on the trip, Judith reconnects with doctor Roman Turner, a man she’d met some years earlier, only to discover he despises her wider family because her grandfather swindled his own father out of a small fortune. The sparks fly but how could these two ever reconcile all the harm done?

Tracie Peterson is at the top of her game for a reason. She writes brilliant characters you want to be friends with, puts them in really tricky situations and reels you in as the work out how to overcome. The faith element is strong, which I love, but the obstacles kept me guessing as to how this woud all shake out. I definitely recommend this story to anyone who enjoys historical romances.

I received a copy of Fairest of Heart from the publisher via NetGalley. The views are all my own.
