Toni Shiloh’s excellent Faith and Fortune series takes three, high-profile friends, and shines the light on demanding careers.
The Trouble With Love
Kicking off what looks to be a great series, The Trouble With Love gives us the story of Holiday Brown, a highly successful recording artist. Holiday comes from music royalty and lives in a New York mansion with her best friends, a super model and a ballerina. Life is fairly idyllic until her best friend’s brother moves in, forcing Holiday to question everything she’s every believed in. Throw in parent drama and a possible stalker threatening one of the roommates, and you have a page turner for sure.
The Truth About Fame
Astoria “Tori” Bell, is the daughter of two A listers and quickly earned her own fame turning heads on the runways of the world. When a stalker threatens her carefully ordered world, she’s forced to hire a firm of bodyguards. Little did she know the man chosen to protect her puts her heart at give danger of being broken. Or can Tori learn to let God show her what real love looks like? Compelling second installment to the Faith & Fortune series.
The Price of Dreams
Probably my favorite of the three, The Price of Dreams is the highly satisfying conclusion to a great collection. Octavia ‘Tavi’ Ricci has worked incredibly hard to reach the top of the ballet world. Then in one sickening moment, she loves everything. Physical therapist Noel Wright might be able to get her dream back on track, but can she risk her heart to an interracial marriage, something she’d always planned to avoid?
All three books standalone but also read beautifully as a series and I recommend all three without reservation. I was swept away to a very different but fascinating world. Bravo.
