Driving Force

Driving Force by Lynette Eason and Kate Angelo

Driving Force had me gripped from the opening scene until the very end. Wow.

When I first read the back cover copy, I was intrigued. Enough that I paused what I was supposed to be doing and bought the audiobook. My TBR (to be read) pile is lengthy and I didn’t have room to add another book. So Grey, Christina and Boss told me their stories every time I got in the car or cooked. Happy hours.

The book is the first in a new set of releases, under the arm of Lynette Eason’s already popular Elite Guardians series. However, this story is written with debut author Kate Angelo. The story focuses on Christina guarding Boss, the Belgian Malinois sniffer dog, while she and his handler, Grey, figure out who’s killing people with a new chemical weapon.

The romance between the two feels real and organic, with their chemistry evident from their first interaction. Christina isn’t phased by Grey being in a wheelchair and she considers his different needs without patronizing or babying him. The suspense thread pulled me in right away with a series of twists even I, as a seasoned suspense reader, couldn’t predict.

It seems clear that Angelo is a major new talent in the Christian Fiction World, while Eason remains at the top of her game.
