Talia Inger leapt into action in The Gryphon Heist and isn’t slowing down in Chasing the White Lion. The book picks up not too long after The Gryphon Heist. While it reads extremely well as a sequel, it could work on its own too.
The usual suspects are back on Team Tyler, and with their various personality quirks, the interaction between the former assassin, the Australian thief, the Grifter, the French chemist (for chemist read demolitions expert with a flare for the dramatic) and the Scottish getaway pilot or driver, depending on the vehicle, is priceless. Throw a CIA operative and her tech expert and oh my you’re off to the races with this one.
In this latest page turner, Talia, Eddie and the team are chasing several things at once. They’re trying to track down a traitor at the C.I.A., who they suspect ordered a hit on Talia’s father. To further complicate matters, someone’s trying to kill a newly-baptized Talia.
After the ceremony, she learns there’s a cross-over between her current mission and an issue her foster sister is dealing with at the State Department: children are going missing in Thailand.
As with The Gryphon Heist, Chasing the White Lion blends shock and humor, serious and touching, life and death, fear and faith. This is a perfect antidote to anyone wishing to escape the current headlines. Pick this up and you’ll be gently distracted and fully entertained for a few hours.
