Break My Fall is one of my favorite romantic suspense stories of 2025. I wish Lynn H. Blackburn would write faster. I inhaled this book then bought the audiobook and loved it all over again.

Gossamer Falls dentist Dr. Meredith Quinn is kind and gracious to everyone she meets. This includes residents of the next town, where trouble is brewing. After using her mobile clinic to help an elderly neighbor, Meredith discovers her vehicle has been tampered with. But why?

Police Chief Grayson Ward has experienced too much loss to ever get involved again, but when Meredith is targeted for no apparent reason he can’t stop his heart from doing what his head has ruled out forever. And when you add in the Quinn family and the complexities of those relationships, you have one cracking good read. I’d move to Gossamer Falls if it existed. I loved every page of this story, especially the cousins interaction.

As with Blackburn’s other stories, the book includes a brilliant ensemble cast who worm their way into your heart. The plot is clever with the action scenes so well written you almost duck for cover yourself.

If you love romantic suspense where the pages fly and the characters burrow deep into your heart, then Break My fall is highly recommended.
