An Unlikely Proposal marks the author’s debut with Love Inspired, and a grand debut it is. Beginning with (as the title suggests) a surprise proposal, this story will weave its way into readers hearts.
Firefighter Omar is still recovering from losing his wife, and is focused on his two daughters, raising them with the help of his family. When his mother in law passes away, he’s not sure how to balance his young family with his demanding work schedule.
The last thing Trinity expected was a proposal from her best friend. But she’s freshly out of work and unsure how she’ll afford her diabetes medication. Could marrying Omar solve both their problems?
After much discussion, the two go ahead, planning to keep their feelings firmly in check. And that lasts about five minutes, until Omar gets injured on the job and then all bets are off. But feelings that threaten friendship, crash memories and involve children are very tricky to navigate.
Shiloh covers the myriad emotions that flow when friends move forward to rebuild in a very different way, intelligently and with sensitivity and humor. I laughed, muttered in annoyance at Omar and teared up. Definitely worth a read.
