Oh what a fun and enticing story. A Pursuit of Home has it all. The adventure features a lost kingdom, a forgotten princess on the run and an aloof art expert, and general know-it-all.
The latest installment in Kristi Ann Hunter’s Haven Manor series doesn’t disappoint. I found myself actually drawing breath while reading the prologue. Then events made the pages fly for me as I waited to see if justice was served.
Jess Beauchene has spent most of her young life on the run and in disguise. She’s hiding from the enemies of her family lineage. Derek Thornbury is one of life’s experts, and he’s particularly skilled at annoying Jess, who is equally adept at pushing back.
When a startling discovery about a family member propels her to action, she has to turn to Derek to help her restore a country. Along the way, they both do some substantial personal development, but will it be enough to deliver a happy ever after?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, long into the night, several nights until it I reached “the end.”
