A Moment to Love

A Moment to Love, by Tracie Peterson

A Moment to Love is an excellent read. Tracie Peterson has been an author I’ve enjoyed reading and a talent I’ve been inspired by for two decades. Some of her books, I reread every couple of years, they’re just that good. I hadn’t read any new work in several years and then A Moment to Love caught my eye.

Really, the title is wrong. It should be ‘A Few Hours to Love’ because I thoroughly enjoyed all this story. The premiss involves Carrie, a pioneering neurologist whose work is stolen by her fiancĂ©. After finally ending things, Carrie decides to return to her hometown of Cheyenne to regroup and try to rebuild her career.

Her plans are thrown for a loop when friend Spencer, a Pinkerton operative, asks her to marry him. Although drawn to Carrie, Spencer wants help tracking down a ruthless criminal who is thought to be residing in the Wyoming town, and being linked to Carrie will smooth Spencer’s path.

And so we are off on a rollercoaster of a journey. The book is everything you’d hope for in a historical romance. Details about the town’s growth and medical developments of the time, a real sense of place, and, of course, a sweet romance.

All in all, a lovely read that I’d highly recommend.
