Peace, by Melissa Carey
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
Anybody else out there having a moment?
It’s open season for chaos in my head, at the moment! Some of the biggest things that have happened in my life are happening RIGHT NOW. And I’m grasping on to the safety bar of the roller coaster. I’m concerned about being up to the job. I worry that I’m not going to please God. I’m scared of disappointing my family. That I’m going to be a failure…
And then, I breathe. And remember Satan wants me to think I’m a loser. He wants me to forget that God is on the throne. The Enemy knows he can’t take away my salvation, because that victory’s won, so instead he’s using the only weapon he can and trying to make me as miserable a Christian as I can be. He wants to tear me from my peace, and my joy.
Then I remember – I don’t have to face inner chaos, anxiety, or worry.
The Lord protects
I have Him. His protection. And His peace. The Lord’s gifts are theft-proof.
When I take a deep breath, and picture my happy place, even if the image is besieged by stormy waters, I can ignore the maelstrom. I can avert my eyes from the storm, slow my racing heart, ease my tense shoulders, and shift my eyes to His eternal, unfathomable, all embracing PEACE. I’m able choose to lace those sandals of the gospel of peace on my feet. I can choose to let the peace of Christ rule in my heart. It’s His promise.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. Colossians 3:15

Excellent reminder that if it makes us doubt or consider our own lack of ability when we are in the middle of the storm then it is from the enemy. There’s a lot going on right now–we’re in a storm for certain– but it’s so easy to recognize the enemy’s hand in it. If is causes confusion, fuels fear, feeds into hopelessness, or uses force to lead us instead of God’s love, then we know it is from the father of lies, Satan! Well, not today Satan! We’re on to you and we’re not falling for your deceptions anymore!
Yes!!!!! The ultimate Litmus test–do you feel condemned? If the answer is yes, you know where it’s coming from!!!
