Joy, by Kimberley Woodhouse
Today my word for you is also a challenge to you. Especially during this busy time of year. So I’ll keep it simple.
The word is JOY.
Now, if you’ve ever been to one of my speaking events, you know where I’m going with this.
We often think of this word during this wonderful season. Christmas Joy. Holiday Joy. Joy to the World.
Joy is often used along with Hope, Noel, Love, Believe. All the Christmas-y words. All the feels.
Well, my focus for the word JOY is easy. As a believer, I have access to God’s joy all the time. If I’m not being joyful, it’s not HIS fault. It’s my own. Maybe I’ve let go of it. Maybe I’ve let other things get in the way of my focus.
You might have noticed I’ve used the word focus a couple of times now. 😊
Because the answer to true JOY? Has to do with our focus.
J – Jesus
O – Only
Y – You
My focus needs to be on Him. And Him alone. He’s all I need. That’s true JOY.
This Christmas season, I pray you are able to grab onto His JOY. It’s simple. Grab onto Him. Keep Him first and foremost. Share that JOY with others.
