Abducted in Alaska by Darlene L. Turner

Abducted in Alaska is a wild ride of a book. From the explosive beginning with bullets flying, the story starts off full of action and doesn’t really slow down until the very last page.

The second installment of this exciting series, set at different points along the Canadian border is no less attention grabbing than the first. This time, we start with a terrified child running out of some woodland, screaming for help.

From there, the bullets start ridding everything in site; the ground the border patrol building, vehicles etc. I got quickly swept away in the urgent race to find an abducted child. The intensity jumps when it’s revealed there’s more than one young life at stake.

Turner’s characters jump from the pages and, perhaps as you’d expect from a Canadian author, her descriptions of cold and snow are spot on. I like being transported to new places, when I read. Abducted in Alaska achieves that with aplomb, from page one, right up to the very satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.
