Acceptable Risk by Lynette Eason

Acceptable Risk kept me up late into the night. I raced to finish, and avoided a number of chores until the killers were caught. This second offering in the Danger Never Sleeps Series is every bit as gripping as the first.

The story opened with military journalist Sarah Denning, kidnapped in the Middle East. After her rescue and return to the US, she’s discharged from the Army. Her overbearing father hires former Army Ranger Gavin Black to protect her without letting Sarah know.

Sarah’s heartache only increases when her brother commits suicide. She pauses her plans to save her career and enlists Gavin to help her find out what really happened.

I liked that while the attraction between Gavin and Sarah was pretty quick, it didn’t overpower the chilling storyline that had combat veterans committing suicide unexpectedly. The two work together and a darker side to medicine is brought to light, but will the truth be found before the body count rises any further?

Acceptable Risk is another unpredictable winner from one of Christian Fiction’s finest romantic suspense authors. I can’t wait to see what the third in the series delivers.
