For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Rom 8:19 ESV
Recently, I shared with friends about my need to slow down and find at least one beautiful thing each day. I’ve had a little stress of late and had been charging through my days trying hard to be the boss lady of my to do list. Add to that, all that’s going on around us and it had become a habit to miss the moments where God’s handiwork and beauty were right in front of me.
Beauty All Around
Out on a day of errands, I happened to turn onto a street lined with white budding trees in the devil strips of every home. With no hesitation, I said “screenshot” out loud. I wanted to remember how beautiful that pathway of white blossoming trees was. I then proceeded to thank God for creating those trees for us to enjoy. Then followed that with thanks for the landscapers he gave wisdom to for the planting of those trees exactly as they were on that street.
I kept thinking about those trees after I turned off that street. To see those trees in their splendor, made me eager to find more beauty on that drive. Of course I did, too.
I thought more about it and I wondered—am I eager to lean into God and wait for all that he will show me? Eager to acknowledge and enjoy more of his handiwork in nature, people, and more? Even more, am I eager to be still with Him, eager to dive into His word to learn more about Him?

Eager Enough?
These questions are for all of us: Do we watch in an eager longing for God to reveal himself to us when we meet Him in our quiet time? During our Bible Study group? Sitting in worship service on Sunday morning? And also, like I did on my drive when I saw his handiwork in those trees.
I hope you’ll strengthen your eagerness to meet your Heavenly Father in every place you can, so He can leave you in awe of His beautiful handiwork He’s placed all around us.
