Summer in the Spotlight

Summer in the Spotlight by Liz Johnson

Summer in the Spotlight is the third visit to the shores of Prince Edward Island. The stories stand on their own but I still recommend reading them all because they’re great.

This might have actually been my favorite of the books. I’m torn. But anyway, we’ve got Kelsey who’s been on the stage of the local community theater every year since she was seven. That is, until a hurricane rips the building apart and there aren’t enough funds to repair it.

Then add into the mix Levi Ross, the almost silent high school facilities director. He’s had a soft spot for Kelsey for years but never spoken up. Until the night of the hurricane when he rescues her and the tow start working to save the theater.

There’s nothing quite like a friends to more, or a reluctant and overlooked hero, and Levi, for all his shyness, takes center stage in this story really well. He’s a swoony hero for sure. The thing I think I liked most about this installment is the way we glimpsed couples from the past and tied up the backstory about the Ross family patriarch. This was masterfully done and will leave readers with a big smile.

I received a copy via NetGalley from the publisher, the enjoyment is all my own.
